“Smart Buildings” is a program of “participatory sustainable local development “, which promotes the upgrading and energy efficiency of buidings belonging to the “public city”, but aiming also at a general development of the building stock based on the green economy principles. Starting from a complex work of analysis and data collection, the overall objective was to draft a strategic action plan for the city, identifying priorities, areas of intervention and preliminary planning. Strongly supoported by the local Craft Trades Confederation (CNA Fano, CNA Pesaro-Urbino) – already involved in activities for the promotion of a sustainability approach in the local building sector – the project was successfully launched by a strong organizational machine based on the partnership between: – the Public: Municipality of Fano, as leading partner; Aset SPA, as the managing body of the “Smart Buildings” Program with compentence on energy audit services; ERAP and other public bodies already investing (or willing to invest) in energy efficiency of buildings; – the Private: Citizens; Private Companies; Small Medium Enterprises; Hotels; owners‘ associations; anyone interested in implementing energy efficiency works also using national incentives. |

The transversal reading of the current situation allows an integrated approach and a public-private partnership. Weak features and criticalities of the tool/measure: Difficulties in finding energy data |
